Category: Other conditions

Obesity is usually categorised by using the Body Mass Index (BMI) which is a simple and reliable way of finding out whether a person is a healthy weight for their height. The range for adults is a BMI of

18.5 to 24.9. If you fall within this range you are considered to be a healthy weight. Anyone with a BMI of 25 to 29.9 will be considered to be overweight, if the BMI is more than 30 this is generally considered to be obesity.
