Cerebral Palsy

Is a condition that is caused when a part of the brain doesn’t fully develop during or very soon after birth.  Some people with cerebral palsy are affected very mildly whilst for others it could lead to being severely disabled.  The most common symptoms are: delay in a child’s development from birth, ie, sitting, standing,  walking, either stiff or floppy limbs, clumsy movements and sometimes problems with swallowing or sight.  Occasionally there can also be learning difficulties.
