Editorial: In this issue you will see that inflammation is highlighted in articles on pages 7 and 10-12.
So why is inflammation such an important topic? For psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, inflammation is the key driver of symptoms.
Inflammation is a normal and important process that allows your body to heal, usually as a response to an illness, injury or something that doesn’t belong in your body (like germs or toxic chemicals).
Understanding the triggers that lead to inflammation is important, and will lead to better control of what is happening within the bodies of people with psoriatic disease.
But until that has been achieved, we still need to manage the condition and navigate the available services.
On pages 8, 13 and 14, we look at the NHS’s planning to provide better access to current services.
