Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Is a condition which affects the digestive system and causes cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and constipation.  It can come on without any warning with an immediate need to have access to toilet facilities.  Whilst it can be a life long condition it does go through periods of relapse and return, where the symptoms can last for a few days or sometimes for months at a time.  There are often periods of time when there are no symptoms at all.
