In issue 59 of Skin 'n' Bones Connection, which is published this week, the role of inflammation in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis is explored.
So why is inflammation such an important topic? For psoriatic disease, inflammation is the key driver of symptoms.
Inflammation is a normal and important process that allows your body to heal, usually as a response to an illness, injury or something that doesn’t belong in your body (like germs or toxic chemicals).
Understanding the triggers that lead to inflammation is important, and will lead to better control of what is happening within the bodies of people with psoriatic disease.
But until that has been achieved, we still need to manage the condition and navigate the available services.
The journal content includes: Psoriatic arthritis management, BSR-PSA Register, stress and psoriasis study, skin inflammation, topical steroids, NHS England - new plans, feeling fatigued, digital patient care, Pharmacy first and much more...
