Be part of the solution and make a difference
My journey began in November 2022, one week after receiving my 3rd covid vaccination. Within one week I started to develop psoriasis on my scalp. By the January (2024) 95% of my body was covered in psoriasis, and I was unable to get out of bed. My entire body was so inflamed, I couldn't bend my knees, hold a pen, or walk.I was too ill to see my GP. After sometime I was able to get out of bed, and contacted my GP, and after my uric acid levels were so high (due to the psoriasis) I was diagnosed me with gout. I refused the diagnosis as I suspected psoriatic arthritis, and demanded to be seen by a rheumatologist. I went onto a 12 month waiting list. Taking charge of my health I went private, and was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. The treatment that followed started with DMARDs, and caused issues with my liver function, therefore I was placed on biologic treatment, and can now say I have had an 85% success rate with my skin clearance. I still have some psoriasis present and inflammatory joints is still an issue. However, this has allowed me to lead a different but somewhat normal life for now.
