Be part of the solution and make a difference
As Autoimmune Awareness Month draws to a close, it is worth reflecting on the shared challenges faced by people living with autoimmune conditions. Although the conditions themselves may differ, many people are affected by similar issues: delayed diagnosis, difficult-to-manage symptoms, and the need for better treatments and more research.
For PAPAA, this is why collaboration matters. Through Connect Immune Research, PAPAA is working alongside other likeminded organisations, to support research across autoimmune conditions and help uncover the links that exist between them.
This kind of partnership is important because autoimmune conditions do not happen in silos. Understanding the common threads between them can help researchers move faster, reduce duplication, and build a stronger evidence base for future treatments. For people living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, that wider perspective matters.
Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis are often seen as separate conditions requiring separate care, but they are also part of a broader autoimmune picture. By working together, charities and researchers can help ensure that progress in one area has the potential to benefit many others.
As Autoimmune Awareness Month ends, the message is a simple one: awareness should lead to action. At PAPAA, that means continuing to support people living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, while championing collaborative research that can improve understanding, treatment, and care for everyone affected by autoimmune disease.
